If you just mix hydrogen with liquid oxygen randomly, a huge explosion will result. Yes, it may catapult you, or some some parts of you, upwards, but surely you are going to be far from reaching any star. 

However, the high potential of these highly reactive substances can also be used to propel a rocket thousands of kilometers up, to leave the gravity of this world and even all the way to the stars!!

The difference is:

The controlled environment. 

The more the scientists know about the substances, the better they can find the best conditions for storage and the best ratio of how to mix them. The better the instrumentation is, the more feedback the scientists get about the combustion temperature and pressures. 

This enables a very controlled, rather safe and enjoyable ride to the stars.

It is in my view the exact same principle applies to the relationship between men and women. 

The higher the potential, the higher the attraction between the two is. 

If we simply give in to this attraction in an uncontrolled fashion, the polarity will neutralize in a series of big „explosions“ that cause more harm than good. Especially when part of the attraction is due to compatible trauma, a fully loaded „pain body“, both screaming for release, then the large potential for healing can only be realized by creating a controlled environment. Otherwise you and your „other half“ end up in a huge smoldering crater. 

From my own failed attempts to reach the stars, sitting in the crater and still figuring out what happened, I can give some first safety recommendations. May they find you and your beloved partner, when you need them!

-It must be understood and respected that both substances are very different in nature, yet they serve the same purpose. (rocket to the stars)

-the substances shall be stored in different tanks (and shall not be mixed)

-the substances must be free of old contaminants that may have accumulated from previous rocket building attempts

-the mixing and reaction of the substances must be monitored by very sensitive and reliable instrumentation. Feedback about temperatures and pressures must be reliably reported, indicated in a well visible manner, and closely monitored! Communication is the key. Language barriers must be addressed and eliminated.

-respect towards the journey and the inherent dangers, as well as the potential goal (reaching the stars) requires discipline and dedication at all times to make it a thrilling, yet still safe ride in the rocket.

-Impulsivity is not the way to go when controlling a rocket. We must remain calm and act responsibly when an instrument reading reaches a limit.

-It is not possible to discard one of the two substances and still reach the stars. However, momentary engine stops and relights may be necessary to reach the correct trajectory.
